Fatal Auto Accidents in Georgia
Fatal accidents in Georgia are a tragic reality that affects far too many families every year. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, there were over 1,500 traffic fatalities in 2022 alone. These numbers highlight the serious impact of fatal accidents on our communities. Losing a loved one in a car crash is an unimaginable loss, and the aftermath can be overwhelming for those left behind.
Common causes of fatal accidents in Georgia include speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, and failure to obey traffic signals. Speeding is one of the leading causes, as it reduces the driver’s ability to react to sudden changes and increases the severity of crashes. Distracted driving, particularly due to smartphone use, has also become a significant factor in fatal accidents. Impaired driving, whether due to alcohol or drugs, continues to be a serious issue on Georgia’s roads. Additionally, drivers who disregard traffic signals put themselves and others at great risk, often leading to deadly outcomes.
