Palmetto, GA (August 26, 2024) – A serious traffic accident took place in Palmetto that claimed one person’s life. The incident took place just before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, August 24.
According to reports from Georgia Highway Patrol, a white Ford F250 pickup truck was heading southbound on Georgia 14. As the vehicle traveled through the area near Tommy Lee Cook Road, it crossed over the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Malibu. The driver of the Ford, who authorities believe was under the influence, was airlifted and flown by LifeFlight to Grady Hospital for emergency care. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 64-year-old Robin Slaton, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of their injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
