Fatal Car Accidents in Georgia
Fatal car accidents in Georgia are an all-too-common tragedy, often leaving families devastated by the sudden loss of a loved one. While many accidents are caused by reckless driving, others result from vehicles that are not properly maintained. When parts of a vehicle are not securely fastened and dislodge, they can become deadly projectiles, leading to catastrophic accidents. Drivers who fail to ensure that their vehicles are safe may be held liable for the resulting harm.
In these cases, the driver or vehicle owner can be found responsible for the damages caused by the accident. If a vehicle’s unsecured parts cause a fatal crash, the family of the deceased may pursue a wrongful death claim. This legal action can help recover various damages, such as:
- Funeral and burial costs: The expenses associated with laying a loved one to rest can be significant, and compensation can help ease this financial burden.
- Medical expenses: If the victim received medical care before their passing, those costs can be covered through a wrongful death claim.
- Loss of financial support: Families may be entitled to compensation for the income and support they would have received from their loved one.
- Pain and suffering: The emotional distress and anguish experienced by the family can also be compensated.
