Rome, GA (October 4, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident with injuries was reported in Rome, Floyd County, sending at least one person to a local hospital with injuries. Emergency crews were called to the scene of the collision on October 3.
Official reports show that a collision between two vehicles took place on Shorter Avenue near the Zaxby’s restaurant. The incident resulted in one of the involved vehicles colliding with a power pole. Authorities rushed to the scene and immediately shut down the roadway because there were lines across the road from the electric pole. Two people involved in the accident were injured. Both victims were transported by Atrium Health Floyd EMS to area hospitals for emergency treatment. The accident is currently being investigated.
