Gordon Co., GA (October 21, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Gordon County on Friday evening, October 18, claimed the lives of two people. Georgia State Patrol was notified of the accident at around 11:45 p.m.
According to police reports, a motor vehicle accident occurred on Highway 53 in the Fairmount area. The impact of the crash caused a pickup truck to leave the roadway and collided with a rock. The vehicle then reentered the road and overturned. Three people were ejected from the vehicle. Two of the victims, identified as a 17-year-old and 26-year-old Kayla Crook, were both pronounced deceased at the scene. One additional victim, identified as 23-year-old William Cannady, was flown by helicopter to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
