Macon, GA (December 24, 2024) – A deadly crash early Saturday morning on Interstate 16 West claimed the life of a Soperton man, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Reports indicate the tragic incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. just east of the Ocmulgee East Boulevard exit. Authorities stated that 37-year-old John Patrick Pace was parked in a Ford F-150 in the emergency lane when a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 22-year-old traveling eastbound, lost control and collided with Pace’s truck. When deputies arrived at the scene, Pace was unresponsive. Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley pronounced him deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
